Museum Trip

 On the 21st of october my class went to the gisborne museum to explore what eviro-art ment. When we got there the lady that was taking us around the museum told us what her name was her name was Aunty Ora. The first thing we did was we went went on a scavenger hunt around the museum. Once we finished our scavenger

hunt we went to get some inspersion on what to draw. Once we found something 

simple to draw we started to head back to the room to start drawing it.

 Then Aunty Ora told us what to do. We were doing print making with a foam.

she also said that we could use a stencil. I choose to  use a sensil. The next thing we did  

was we had to choose a paper. Then we went back to our seat to start making the art. 

 Then we had to draw on to the foam sheet and that was going to be the stamp. 

The funniest part about the trip was painting we had to colour in our stencil  

with paint. Then we got a roller and put the foam set on the piece of paper and then rolled the paper like a stamp with the roller. The finally step was to take the foam of the paper then it was finished. Wail we were there we had to use kairangahau, kaiwhakarite and whaiwhakaaro. 

 

The Arts

This term we were learning about the arts 

When we were doing this we had to use kaikorero [we are communicators] mahi tahi [we are collaborators] 
I found it hard to communicate nicely to each other.
I really enjoyed working in a group with my friends.

Te Atua

 We were learning about the Atua. When we did this we had to use 

 kaiwhakarite [self manager] and whaiwhakaaro. [be a thinker]

We had to create a slide or a book on book creator to shear our learning on.

 I chose to use a slides. On our slide or book we had to have

 what there name ment in English and maori.

Writing warm up

We were learning about how to paint a picture for the reader.

I found it easy to write down what I saw in the picture .

My buddys name was Danika, she is one of my friends.

I really enjoyed working with A buddy because it was something different.

For this piece of writing we needed to use our kaikorero[ be a communicator]

and mahi tahi. [be a collaborator]

Winter wonderland

  Do you know how to use show not tell in your writing? 

We were learning to use show not tell and paint a picture for our reader only using a piece of writing. 

To hook in the reader we needed to use language features like adjectives, commas, verbs and onomatopoeia. 

Next time I do this I will try to add more writing. I also needed to use whaiwhakaaro[be a thinker] and kaiwhakarite. [self manager]

Koru Writing

Me and my buddy did a piece of writing about a koru and

how to add lots off detail in a small piece of writing.

In this piece of writing we needed to use our

Kaiwhakarite [self manager] and Whaiwhakaaro. [be a thinker]

I worked with a buddy and her name was Mia and I

also added her piece of writing so you can see her to.

next time I need to add a bit more detail.

Why does popcorn pop

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Do you know how popcorn pops?

Popcorn is a snack food that grows on a cob and pops when it gets to a temperature too hot to handle. Popcorn is named for its popping noise. When popcorn pops it bursts open and releases a hot steam.

Popcorn pops because inside a popcorn kernel there is water starch and steam. The water in the kernel turns into steam and the steam makes the starch turn into a gel like substance. Then the pressure builds up and pushes the starch out and if the starch comes incontact with oxygen it turns into a fluffy starch. That is what you eat.

So now you know how popcorn pops. My favorite popcorn flavor is butter, lightly salted and icing sugar. What is your favorite flavor?     

 

Author's Purpose

 We were learning about what is an author's purpose and why they write.

I found it easy to read the text and answer the questions.

I really enjoyed read the text and finding out what an authors purpose was.

Next time I need to read more faster than I did.

Maori introduction

 We were learning about how to introduce ourselves in te reo.

I really enjoyed finding more information about me and maori language.

I found it hard to read and speak clearly.

Next time I need to try and say it more clearly so you can hear it better.

Road safety

 

We were learning about how to use Imovie and we were also learning about how to make a road safety video.

I found it easy to edit the video and pick the theme for the video.

I found it hard to try and find different spots to video.

I really enjoyed working together and trying a new tool for learning.

Next time I need to try to video in different places.

Copyright challenge

 

We were learning about how to not use copyright.

I found it easy to write my name and my nickname.

I found it hard to try and find something I like and that would reflect what I like.

I really enjoyed trying something new like this and challenging myself.

Next time I need to work a bit faster and try to fill in the gaps.

 We were learning about our REACH values and what Respect looks like on our behaviour matrix.

I found it easy to take the photos and be creative with my friends.

I found it hard to make all of our photos into a pic collage.

I really enjoyed taking the photos with my friends.

Next time I need to work a bit faster then we did and

be a bit more quiet.

Triathlon

We were learning about how to work in a team and push yourself during a Triathlon. I competed as an Individual in the girls race.

I found it easy to do the run because that was what I was better at.

I found it hard to do the biking because the bike was on grass.

I really enjoyed getting to know new people that are fast like me.

Next time I need to push my self more when doing the triathlon.

I was an individual and came first in the school event and I was really proud of myself!

 

Korowai

                                                        We were learning about using colours that look best together.

I found it easy to cut the feathers out.

I found it hard to glue the feather on in a way where they wouldn't touch the same colors.

I really enjoyed working in a team with my friends.

Next time I need to use more Mahi Tahi when I'm working in a team.

Chromebook Comic

I found it easy to describe how to care for a device.

I found it hard to find the right photo that I like and that much what I was thinking of.

I really enjoyed tying the new tool of learning.

I found it  easy to describe the things I like.
